We visited this one prior to an impromptu meeting and decided to try some pub grub. Our first choice was The Falcon next door, but seeing the total 'up their own arse' attitude, we came back to the Warren. The biggest claim to fame here so far was that they sold white beer that is flavoured to your own specifications, but we stayed with the Kronenburg. Pub grub? Not really. A little too pricey for pub grub, but the meal was absolutely superb! We settled for beef bourginon all round, and the sauce ...

One of our favourite preludes to interviews, The Nags Head on Mansfield Road has just about the most minimal but most gratifying menu for dinnertime visitors. Hey, they only do pie and chips, but the steak and ale is the best pie ever! Sure we are great fans of our gourmet stuff, but there are times when entrecoute marmalade with rashers of lemon paté stuffed gooseberries get a bit boring and only a good tummy filling will do... and theres no better place in that instance than The Nags!

...or Petit Pois as Angelina dubbed it... was a hurried decision to visit en route to another appointment. Well recommended by various sources, at first glance of the menu, it seemed that Petit Paris was not in fact a French restaurant at all, with various Italian and English dishes tarted up with French sounding names. However on ordering a steak and trying to throw a spanner in the works by ordering a roquefort sauce, yours truly was put in place without even a bat of the eyelids from the waitress. ...

This was a genuine happy accident. On finding that a couple of our favourite eateries were rammed, we were just resigning ourselves to an Indian when we noticed a little establishment that was not immediately obvious in what it was. Ripple is on Mansfield Road in Sherwood, and served up one of the best steaks ever. Its a la carte, so dont go in there expecting a cheap bill, but as with most things in life, you get what you pay for. Another little gem in a stretch that is becoming renowned for ...

An absolute gem found on one of our out of town jaunts and on high recommendation, Riva in Matlock Bath is possibly the most complete restaurant in the world! The food is without a doubt the best ever and it is strongly recommended that you do NOT try substituting different sauces or side orders from those suggested on the menu, as they really do have everything fully under control as regards complementing flavours. First impressions were that it looked a little pricey, but after the astonishing ...

Having never had the chance to visit what was rumoured to be the best Italian restaurant in Nottingham, Ponteveccio's, we decided to have an impromptu New Years Eve dinner at the newly named, 'under new management' version, Antonio's. Situated on Trent Bridge, Antonio's is beautifully atmospheric, and the meals were absolutely top notch with mega helpings. Two minor complaints however- the staff were not very knowledgeable or helpful, and the food presentation was decidedly an English version ...

The Willow Tree is over in West Bridgford, and to the casual eye is a normal pub. Once inside though, the surroundings are plush, and there are more class things on the menu (which are serverd in a semi-gourmet style) than you can shake a stick at. Another highly recommended establishment that we will be visiting regularly on our travels from now on

So we ordered 'anything that could be sorted in 5 mins'. What they came up with rivals anything from anywhere and was probably the best meal we ever had. The meal itself was utterly superb and was to orgasm standards. What made it even better was that we stumbled upon an amazing offer whereby you can order 3 main courses AND a starter EACH!!! for 14quid!

The Manor is on the Chilwell/Long Eaton boarder and has just ben refurbished. We were offered a choice of locations in which to sit,and we decided on the conservatory. To celebrate this fact, we are holding a little competition to test the old grey cells, based on a recent MMs meeting. Our meetings are renowned for the wining, dining and fun involved, and are normally ...
